Project Overview

Cafe Royal, London

Client:

MACE Group

Services:

heritage ironwork restoration

As part of our restoration programme at Cafe Royal in London, we had to re-create a missing section of the wrought-iron balustrade on the 7th floor.

These before and after photographs help illustrate the complexities of the restoration work we do here at Newton Forge. The wrought iron elements were hand-forged in our workshop and we worked with various foundries to re-cast the brass decorative details and extend the brass handrail. Once it was returned to the site it is virtually impossible to tell where the original balustrade finishes and ours begins.
