Heritage Ironwork Restoration

We are currently working on this lovely house in Dorset. The windows were in very poor condition. Parts of the wooden frames needed replacing and some stone repairs were necessary on the mullions.

These were either performed by our own experts or contracted out to highly skilled companies we work with. We re-lead glazed the windows and completely restored the metal frames. Our in-house Glazier, Lee, working on removing windows from the frame. The windows needed to be removed so that our blacksmiths in the workshop could restore the lead lights and metalwork.

Removing the windows on the first floor was a two-man job. The wood glue was very strong in holding the windows in place. Lee then had to work on the existing wooden frame to release the window. Lee and Ian worked together to remove the first-floor window.
