Project Overview

Location:

Dreamland Cinema, Marine Terrace, Margate

Client:

Coombs (Canterbury) Ltd

Services:

Heritage Ironwork Restoration, Cast ironwork

In May 2016 we completed our work at the Dreamland Cinema in Margate. Replica Cast iron windows doors and brace frames were needed for the restoration of the classic 1930’s cinema building.

The windows were originally installed in 1934. We both restored and refurbished the windows, retaining as much of the history as possible without compromising the original features. This involved carefully restoring the cast iron frames and upgrading the inner widows to take double glazed units. Restoring the Sunshine Café windows unveiled panoramic views of Margate sands beach.
