Established in 1980, Newton Forge takes its name from its original location, the small country town of Sturminster Newton in Dorset. The business was set up by Ian and Karen Ring, the forge began on Ian’s Uncle’s Farm where he perfected his trade. Ian is a Master Blacksmith and spent many years at the anvil producing a range of items for homes both inside and out. From 2005 onwards Ian’s knowledge and expertise meant Newton Forge began to receive more enquiries for ironwork restoration and bigger architectural metalwork commissions.
In 2008 the business moved to new, larger premises in Manston, near Sturminster Newton. They took on additional staff to drive the commercial side of the business. We now have a sizeable team at the workshop, on sites and in the office. We are widely recognised across the UK as one of the major providers and restorers of high quality, traditional bespoke ironwork.
Company Ideology: Our goal is to become widely known as a major provider and restorer of quality traditional wrought and cast ironwork. To provide our customers with excellence in service as well as product. Our company will have as minimum an impact on our environment as possible. Our employees and customers will be safe from our actions in providing our service. In other words, we will strive for happy customers, happy employees who enjoy looking after each other.
