Company Overview
HIstory of Newton Forge
Established in 1980, Newton Forge takes its name from its original location, the small country town of Sturminster Newton in Dorset where Ian & Karen Ring set up the forge at his Uncle’s Farm. The forge stood on the edge of the town, overlooking a rural panorama of fields, trees and hedgerows for many years. However, due to expansion, the forge and then recently the company offices were forced to move. They are now both situated on one site in the nearby village of Manston, about 1 mile from Sturminster Newton. The company still has the hallmarks of the traditional village blacksmith; superb craftsmanship combined with aesthetically pleasing designs, but now undertake large and ambitious projects, in heritage restoration and cast iron work.
