| TRADITIONAL IRONWORK & RESTORATION | |||
|
Newton Forge has long been involved in restoration projects
for private estate owners and organisations like The National Trust. The
point about such work is that it was carried out originally by craftsmen
using traditional methods, and the same methods have to be employed in
the restoration process. In our field, that can involve forge welding,
leaf work, special forged ends, tenoned and riveted joints (screwed or
hot collared), then a multi-coat, hand painted finish. |
