Royal Courts Of Justice

Royal Courts of Justice, project images.

Client: Wilson James Ltd.

Project: Perimeter ironwork restoration and enhancements.

Here we restored the historic gates at the West Green Judge’s entrance and installed new railings to accurately match the existing. Of particular interest was shrapnel damage caused during a bombing in the 2nd World War. Our Blacksmiths vigilantly left these defects in place as part of the gates interesting history.

We moved the large Quadrangle entrance gate to allow larger vehicles to use the vehicle lock. Moving the gates meant we were required to install new cast iron panels to extend the holding area.

In the final part of the project we installied over 150m of weld mesh to the imposing perimeter railing, maintaining the historical integrity whilst meeting modern security demands.
