Blacksmith/Metalworker

Newton Forge Ltd is a market leader in historic restoration and replication of a wide range of traditional metal work along with fabrication of new and contemporary designs.   We are looking for an experienced blacksmith, also with the ability to fabricate and weld, to join our busy and well-established company. Having been trading for over 38 years, the company has expanded considerably, and is now looking for another experienced craftsman to join our skilled team. We are looking for a blacksmith who is passionate about metalwork and has a wide and varied portfolio of previous projects

Working in either one of our two workshops, your duties could include:

- Lead projects from conception to completion

- Input and consultation at design stage

- Confident application of modern and traditional techniques

- Forge work as required

- MIG/ARC welding as required

- TIG/Silver soldering/braising as required

- Operate drilling, cutting and turning machines

- Assist less experienced team members as required

- Deputise for Works Manager when required

- Other workshop duties as reasonably required by either the Works Manager or Projects Manager

Personal Attributes

- Ability to read engineering/workshop drawings

- Ability to work efficiently and effectively to tight deadlines

- Works well within a team

- Organised with an eye for detail

- Effective communicator

- Good timekeeper

- Personable

- Driving licence (essential)

- Fork lift licence (desirable)

Metalworker/Site Fitter

Newton Forge Ltd is a market leader in historic restoration and replication of a wide range of traditional metal workalong with fabrication of new and contemporary designs.   We are looking for an experienced fabricator to join our busy and well-established company. Having been trading for over 38years, the company has expanded considerably, and is now looking for new team members to join our skilled team. We are looking for someone with extensive fabrication and welding experience combined with site fitting experience.

Working in either one of our two workshops, your duties could include:

- General fabrication duties

- Drilling, cutting, tapping

- MIG/Arc welding

- TIG/Silver Soldering/Braising

- Site fitting of finished metalwork

- Core drilling masonry

- Resin fixing/leading metalwork

- Spray/hand paint/finish to a high standard

- Other general building skills would be an advantage

- Deputise for Site Supervisor as required

- Other duties as reasonably required by the Works Manager, Site Supervisor or Projects Manager
